Statu quo (da expressão in statu quo res erant ante bellum) é uma expressão latina que designa o estado atual das coisas, seja em que momento for.

Status Quo é uma banda de rock britânica formada em 1962. É composta por Francis Rossi (guitarra, vocalista), Alan Lancaster (baixo), Rick Parfitt (guitarra, vocalista) e John Coghlan (bateria). Tocam um Hard Rock primário, sem grandes artificios mas muito eficiente. A sua formação, e o nome, só estabilizam em 1967, tendo o seu primeiro single "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" em 1968 sido um grande sucesso. Em 1981 sai John Coghlan e em 1985 sai Alan Lancaster, mas o grupo mantém-se em cena, tendo participado no Live Aid.
